Neil Roe

Neil

Neil spent his entire career in the heavy construction material business before becoming co-founder of Shade Sails Canada in 2000. It was after visiting his two youngest sons in Australia that he noticed the extensive use of Shade Sails and how architecturally pleasing and impressive they were. Already in the dock and deck building business, back in Ontario, he formed a plan with his sons to add the Shade Sails to the product line. Since then dock and decks have been left for other contractors and Shade Sails Canada has grown to a year around business, Nationwide and beyond!

Neil considered retirement a few years back but realized he was having too much fun doing what he was doing, so he is still deeply involved and flying Shade Sails all across Canada! The boys are however limiting his ladder climbing and make sure he is under the Shade Sail passing tools on those HOT summer days while they do the grunt work. He is now dividing his time between the west of Canada and the East to spend time with his 3 boys and 4 grandchildren.

Shade Sails are a real fit for Neil and the Roe’s as they are avid outdoorsmen and much of their time is spent outside bicycle riding, boating and skiing.
