A free-span fabric structure (also known as a tensioned fabric structure or a shade sail) is a piece of tensioned fabric spanned between multiple points. The fabric sail can be attached to both existing structures and posts, which are engineered to support large amounts of load. These structures can cover both large and small areas and are particularly appealing visually, especially when post/attachment point heights are varied to create hyperbolic shapes. While the posts for these structures are permanent, the fabric itself can be removed for the winter and during storms. Free-span fabric structures are widely used across many industries and applications including restaurants, playgrounds, seating areas, public parks and spaces, storage and events.

A framed fabric structure comprises shade fabric tensioned over a steel frame. They come in symmetrical shapes, such as squares and rectangles and their lengths, widths and heights are fully customizable. Framed structures create large amounts of shade with minimal design or engineering and are easy to assemble and disassemble. These structures are permanent, however, depending on the footings, their position can be adjusted after the initial installation if required. These structures are particularly popular with playgrounds, swimming pools and any other space providing maximum shade for participants or users of a space.

A cyclone umbrella comprises cone-shaped tensioned fabric spanned around a single post frame. Cyclones are pre-engineered structures sold in set sizes, they are particularly elegant and very durable, with most umbrellas staying up year-round. These umbrellas are permanent structures with substantial footings, however, the canopy can be taken down and reinstalled easily should you wish to do so. Cyclones are ideal for any area where space for footings is minimal or shade is needed with minimum obtrusions such as restaurants, playgrounds and other sports and recreation facilities.

A cantilever structure is a piece of tensioned fabric supported by a steel frame, which is projected over an area from a set of posts positioned outside of the area. Cantilevers are ideal in applications where the supporting structure needs to be completely removed from the area being shaded such as the side of a swimming pool. These structures are permanent and require substantial footings to support the weight of the frame and fabric being cantilevered over the area being shaded. The fabric can easily be removed during the winter season or during a storm and is easy to reinstall when needed. Cantilevers are popular with swimming pools, waterparks and a variety of other sports and recreation applications.

A Roman Shade is a series of 2ft fabric sections hung along two parallel wires between two faces. They can be installed between two existing parallel faces or can be made with a frame to surround the area you would like to shade. They are un-tensioned with each section hanging below the cable creating a unique and airy atmosphere, as well as being retractable, allowing you to cover or uncover an area as you wish. Roman Shades are easy to install and takedown and depending on the frame or surface they are attached to, can create an entirely temporary structure. Their aesthetic shape is popular for restaurants, patios and, when combined with a pergola, are great for temporary shade at events.

A ShadeWing is a piece of tensioned fabric spanned between posts supported by guy-wires. These structures are temporary and can easily be erected, dismantled or moved by your team. This product is great for temporary space including events and can be used multiple times in multiple locations. ShadeWings cover small to medium-sized areas and are available in a wide range of fabric types and colours. In particular, they are popular with outdoor playgrounds and festivals but can be used anywhere that need unintrusive temporary shade.

Playshade structures comprise a semi-tensioned canopy flown over a single-mast steel frame. They are square in shade and come in set sizes of 12' & 14'. Playshade structures require a substantial single footing and as such are designed to be permanent structures. They are particularly popular with playgrounds and child care facilities but can also be used anywhere that requires unobtrusive shade such as restaurants.
$25 to $35 per square foot
A Hypod comprises a hyperbolic shade sail flown inside a single-mast steel frame, exhibiting the aesthetic qualities of a free-span fabric structure while keeping the footing requirements as minimal as possible. Hypods are permanent structures with a substantial single footing required, this also increases their performance in inclement weather conditions. Most of our installations are in playgrounds and child care facilities, these structures can also be used anywhere requiring aesthetic unobtrusive shade.

Patio Cubes comprise a hyperbolic shade sail flown on top of a pergola frame. They can be either square or rectangle in shape and are limited to around 14ft in width and length. Sails can be flown with both regular and waterproof fabric extending their usage well into the shoulder seasons. These modular shade solutions were designed for seating areas in food and beverage establishments, however, they can also be used for a variety of other applications including education and temporary space.

A KwikShade structure comprises a fully tensioned, hyperbolic shade sail flown between a diagonal joisted steel frame. They are square in shape and come as kits in set sizes of 12', 14' and 16'. Although they have minimal footings, they are designed as permanent structures, however, surface mounted installs can be moved if needed after the initial installation. KwikShade structures are particularly popular in educational settings such as playgrounds, schools and daycares but can also be used in many other settings.

Integrating solar capabilities into shade design creates a sustainable solution with benefits for both the client and customer. Solar power can be grid-connected or stored in batteries that can later be used to power lights, UBS chargers, AC outlets, and to meet any number of electrical needs. The integration of solar panels and tensile fabric creates an aesthetic & functional structure than can be both temporary and permanent. Benefits include providing charging facilities, lighting, ventilation, climate control, and more in a simple easy-to-use package.
