How to Order a Custom Product

Our Custom Sized Shade Products are made to fit your specifications exactly, eliminating the need to calculate attachment points on your own. With our custom products, you install your posts and other attachment points, take all of the measurements and Shade Sails Canada will make a custom-sized shade solution to fit that space exactly. These articles are written to help you plan and measure your next shade project.

Step 3 – Install your attachment hardware (optional)

At the point of measuring the size of your shade sail, you have two options. You can either order the attachment hardware first and install it before measuring OR you can measure from the points you marked in step two (It is easier and cheaper to get your hardware when you get your Sail however you must be 100% confident your hardware will go where you have marked. If you are not certain where your hardware will go, we strongly recommend ordering and installing your hardware first. When filling out our order form, you will be presented with the following two options.
  1. Eye to Eye – The term “Eye” refers to the attachment-point hardware the shade sail is connected to when installing your sail.
  2. Intended Point to Intended Point – If you would rather order your attachment hardware with your shade sail, you can measure from the mark you made in step two and our software will include the distance needed for hardware. Again, it is imperative that these will be your final attachment points, there will be little to no margin for error once the sail has been cut.
***If, for example, you want a gap between your shade sail and one of your attachment points, you can choose to have a steel cable or link at one or more corners. You do not need to estimate the measurement from this fictitious point, just measure from where the cable will connect and note the length of cable you want. We then allow for this in the fabrication of your Sail.
