Metro Toronto Convention Center
Free-Span Shade Sail Fabric Structure

Opened in 1984 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre is arguably the leading Convention Centre in North America, covering over 2 million square feet. Their management was looking for a very prompt shade solution for their entrance way and outdoor sitting area and TensArch was happy to accommodate with a turnaround of just 4 weeks, including measurement the next day, fabrication of custom brackets and sails and installation.

The major engineering and design considerations for this job were focused on a custom bracketing system for mounting to the existing structure. The intricately designed brackets attached seamlessly to the building and were designed specifically to facilitate further expansion on each side of the existing shade structure.

Safety was also paramount while working at height on their open roof. TensArch employees go through Fall Arrest Training and always take a safety-first approach to every job. The Metro Toronto Convention Centre were particularly happy with the prompt and professional service provided by TensArch and we are proud to have worked on such an iconic building in downtown Toronto.
